Aberdeen Asset Management has appointed Steven Nicholls as Head of EMEA Client Portfolio Managers.
Nicholls has two main areas of responsibility. Firstly, he will be a client facing portfolio manager in Aberdeen’s UK product team where he will be responsible for the external support and promotion of the firm’s UK fixed income products, reporting to Paul Magura, Head of UK Fixed Income. Secondly, he will be Head of EMEA Client Portfolio Managers reporting to Charles McKenzie, Deputy Head of Fixed Income.
Nicholls has extensive knowledge of fixed income markets. Between 1983 and 2004, he worked at Phillips and Drew/UBS where he spent 12 years as a fixed income fund manager for a variety of UK and global products and then moved to a role where he was responsible for promoting their fixed income investment capabilities to the marketplace. More recently, from 2004 to the end of 2010, he was at PIMCO in London where he led a team responsible for UK institutional client servicing and working with their distribution teams to facilitate new business strategies.
Charles McKenzie, Deputy Head of Fixed Income at Aberdeen, says: “We are delighted that Steven has joined us to strengthen further our EMEA fixed income team.”
