Absolute Return Partners makes senior research analyst hire

RELATED TOPICS

Institutional investment consultant Absolute Return Partners (ARP) has appointed Mark Moloney as senior research analyst.

He joins from fund of hedge funds Saguenay Strathmore Capital (now Titan Advisors) where he was associate director.

In his new role, he will report to Niels Jensen, chief investment officer.

During his time at Saguenay Strathmore Capital, Moloney was a lead analyst across a number of invested hedge funds and strategies. As part of his role, he undertook comprehensive qualitative and quantitative research and analysis across all asset classes and hedge fund strategies on behalf of the global research team and investment committee.

Jensen says: “As an adviser to institutional clients with a focus on alternative investment solutions, one of our defining strengths is our ability to rigorously research and identify solutions and, from there, to advise on the best way our clients can put their money to work. Underpinning all this is the quality of our team. Mark has greatly impressed me with his abilities and will compliment and further bolster our capabilities.”

ARP’s focus is advising institutional clients on investment strategies that aim to generate income and returns in a low growth and low rate environment.

“We are firm in the belief that esoteric asset classes offer a real opportunity for institutional investors hungry for yield above the 2-3 per cent levels that are becoming the norm in today’s growth and productivity challenged world. However, to do this requires significant research and analytical capabilities across all asset classes in order to identify the funds and strategies that are of the right quality and suitability for our clients’ needs. It is vital that we have the depth of skills in our team to provide this service. Mark is a welcome addition to the team and we will be looking to add further to the team in the coming months,” says Nick Rees (pictured), ARP’s managing partner.
