Alan Lebowitz joins Evercore Trust Company as senior advisor

Alan Lebowitz has joined Evercore Trust Company as a senior advisor based in Washington DC.

He will provide guidance on policy and regulatory issues impacting Evercore Trust clients and consult on specific engagements.
 
Lebowitz brings extensive experience in ERISA fiduciary law and policy. Lebowitz recently retired from the Department of Labour after a 34-year career, where he was the deputy assistant secretary for programme operations for the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA). In this role he functioned as EBSA's chief operating officer, overseeing EBSA's regulatory, enforcement and reporting activities.
 
Lebowitz also served as the acting assistant secretary of labour for EBSA during several presidential transition periods and in other instances. Prior to joining the Department of Labour, Lebowitz held several positions in the employee plans area at the Internal Revenue Service, ending as chief of the prohibited transactions staff.
