Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America has named Corey Walther as head of distribution relationship management effective 1 January 2017.

Walther (pictured) will report to Allianz Life chief distribution officer and Allianz Life Financial Services CEO Tom Burns, and will be responsible for leading business development and sales growth for the broker dealer distribution channels at Allianz Life.

Walther replaces Mike Brandriet, who was recently named president of Allianz Life Financial Services LLC.

“Corey is well respected in the industry for his extensive experience in sales, marketing and strategic planning,” says Burns. “He brings an entrepreneurial spirit to his new role which will be beneficial in supporting our strategic partners as well as establishing new relationships for Allianz Life so that we are able to increase our reach to help meet the needs of consumers in today’s dynamically changing landscape.”

Walther joined Allianz Life in 1998 after serving as an investment executive with RBC Dain Rauscher (now RBC Wealth Management). At Allianz Life, he has held several senior leadership roles including senior vice president of strategic accounts and head of advisory distribution. Walther most recently served as chief operating officer and chief compliance officer for Allianz Life Financial Services. He will continue to serve as chief compliance officer until his replacement is named.
