Financial services provider Apex Group has appointed Renaud Oury as Group Chief Data Officer (CDO) and as a member of the Executive Committee.

The creation of this role strengthens Apex’s position as an industry leader and reflects its commitment to building a data driven organisation.

Oury’s, whose appointment is effective immediately, is based in Luxembourg, one of Apex’s largest service centres, and as CDO he will be responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive analytics strategy for the Group. His priority will be to leverage data and information to improve efficiencies, enhance client service and support the Group’s future growth plans. With a 25-year long career in financial services and financial technology, Renaud has a holistic understanding of the market, working with both private and institutional clients.

Prior to joining Apex, Oury was a member of IQ-EQ’s Executive Committee where he was responsible for Sales and Marketing. Prior to that he was Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at KNEIP, an international services provider to the fund industry. A well-recognised figure in Luxembourg’s financial centre, Renaud is a member of the ESG Committee of the Luxembourg PE Association (LPEA).

Peter Hughes, Founder and CEO, Apex Group, says: “We are thrilled to welcome Renaud to the Executive Committee and look forward to working with him to ensure Apex leverages technology to stay innovative, agile and forward thinking. Data is at the core of our business and as our range of technological solutions grows across the Group, the role of CDO is increasingly necessary to help the company identify value. Renaud will focus on integrating Apex’s data flows and enhancing data quality, while exploring opportunities to leverage the wealth of data we have as an asset that both delivers insights to benefit our clients and predicts the needs of the market.”

Oury says: “I am delighted to have been appointed Group Chief Data Officer, it is an incredibly exciting role with a clear opportunity to deliver insight to clients and the business. By focusing on translating data into knowledge we can increase the performance of the business and enhance service quality for our clients.  Apex has experienced transformational growth over the past 18 months and therefore my immediate priority will be coordinating the integration of data across the different entities”.
