Asset Control, a specialist providing high-performance systems for financial data management, has appointed Mark Hermeling as Chief Technology Officer, based in London.

As CTO, Hermeling (pictured), will be responsible for the overall leadership of Research and Development at Asset Control, working closely with Product Management and Customer Services. Hermeling will play a major role in the future of product development within the company and Asset Control’s push into new technologies thanks to his extensive data management technology experience and knowledge of the financial services domain. Previously, Hermeling held senior positions at SunGard and Accenture as well as at different emerging fintech companies.

The appointment comes at a pivotal time for the company as it rolls out its newly launched cloud-deployed data analytics, exploration and processing platform, ACX. Hermeling will spearhead Asset Control’s further development into the full spectrum of data management, from ingestion and mastering to data exploration discovery and analytics, as the company explores new use cases in operations, valuation and risk data.

“It is a really exciting time to join Asset Control. The company has a great customer base and works with powerful new technologies,” says Mark Hermeling. “I look forward to working with the team to build out our operation and find innovative ways in which we can help firms streamline their data infrastructure to improve efficiencies and meet new business requirements.”

“Asset Control is investing heavily in new products and technology and Mark’s experience and understanding of data management challenges within financial services are second-to-none,” says Mark Hepsworth, CEO, Asset Control, “Clients’ data management requirements are expanding rapidly and Mark will be central to our efforts to innovate solutions such as ACX to meet these requirements.”
