Independent investment bank B. Riley has hired veteran institutional sales professionals Harry Burns and Brian Murphy.

Burns joins B. Riley’s institutional equity sales desk and will be responsible for serving clients in the Midwest, primarily Illinois and Minnesota. He joins B. Riley’s Los Angeles office from Pennsylvania-based Longbow Securities.

Murphy joins B. Riley’s institutional sales and trading desk in San Francisco, where he will be focused on the firm’s Northern California and Pacific Northwest client base. He comes to B. Riley from Keefe, Bruyette & Woods.

‘B. Riley welcomes Harry and Brian to the B. Riley team,’ says Tom Kelleher, chief executive officer. ‘Their addition is part of our recent hiring effort that includes searching for talented professionals for our research, sales, trading and banking departments.’
