Peter Johnson is to join Bank of America Merrill Lynch as managing director and head of global futures and OTC clearing. In this role, Johnson will assume global responsibility for all futures, options and OTC derivatives clearing.
Johnson, who is expected to join the company in October, will be based in Chicago and report to Denis Manelski, head of global short rates trading and Stu Hendel, head of global prime brokerage.
"Peter is a highly regarded industry veteran with a proven track record. Bringing him on board underscores our commitment to the futures and OTC space at a critical time as the industry continues to evolve,” said Manelski and Hendel. "We are delighted to welcome him as a member of our leadership team."
Johnson joins the firm from JP Morgan, where he held a variety of senior leadership roles during the last 19 years, including his most recent post as head of global futures, options and OTC clearing. Previously, he served as North American head of futures and options, and head of JP Morgan’s Chicago futures office.
