Bond manager joins Vontobel Asset Management

RELATED TOPICS

Bond manager Yann Lepape PhD has joined the Vontobel Asset Management bond team, specialising in Global Flexible Bonds.

Lepape has over 20 years’ experience in macroeconomics, markets strategy and portfolio management. Prior to joining Vontobel Asset Management, he worked for Oddo BHF AM. At Oddo BHF AM, Lepape was a member of the Global Investment Committee and responsible for global macro analysis, the asset allocation of the balanced fund range (assets under management of EUR7 billion) and the Portfolio Manager of emerging markets investments (equity, currencies and bonds). Prior to Oddo BHF AM, he acted as a financial counsellor of the French Treasury Department. Lepape started his career in 1995 as a currency quantitative analyst at the proprietary trading desk of BNP Paribas. He received an MSc in Finance from ESC Lyon and gained a PhD in Economics from the CEFI of the University of Aix Marseille.

At Vontobel Asset Management, Lepape will further strengthen the portfolio management and the macro economic analysis capacity of the Global Flexible team as well as contribute to the improvement of quantitative tools and models used by the team.

“We are delighted to be reinforcing our Global Flexible resources with the arrival of a highly seasoned professional, Lepape. This is indeed timely as Yann’s arrival coincides with a volatility regime change in fixed income markets, when truly flexible strategies will become a cornerstone of fixed income portfolio allocations,” says Ludovic Colin, Head of Global Flexible Bonds at Vontobel Asset Management.
