Brown Rudnick, an international law firm, has hired Tracy Fisher as a partner in the tax group based in the firm’s London office.

Fisher provides complex transactional and structuring tax advice, predominantly in a funds, international, real estate, or private equity context. She has extensive experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, recapitalizations and reorganizations, bankruptcies, and finance.

Prior to joining Brown Rudnick, Fisher was a tax lawyer with the law firms of DLA Piper, Hammonds, and Lovells.

Brown Rudnick chief executive Joseph F. Ryan says: ‘Today’s changing world economy presents a host of challenges and opportunities for businesses operating on a global scale. With the addition of an experienced tax lawyer in our London office, our corporate, insolvency and finance groups are well-equipped to advise clients on developing international tax strategies. We welcome Tracy to the firm.’

Fisher adds: ‘Brown Rudnick continues to grow in a challenging London legal market. The firm has a focused business strategy that offers me a strong platform to expand my practice, while working alongside a group of talented attorneys who are leaders in their respective fields.’

The appointment follows the recent announcement that a litigation team joined the firm’s London office on 6 July. The group is led by partner Neil Micklethwaite who is joined by a senior associate and two trainees scheduled to qualify later this year. Micklethwaite is one of the former principals of Gherson, a litigation and immigration boutique in the UK. He has been practicing law for 25 years, and was previously head of litigation in London for both Bingham McCutchen and DLA Piper.
