Industry veterans Jeffrey Hamilton and Robert Mara have joined BTIG’s Boston office as Managing Directors. Hamilton, the new Head of the Boston office at BTIG, will help pursue new and enhance existing client relationships while also developing strategic business opportunities for the firm.

Mara joins BTIG within the Institutional Equities division, where he will focus on bolstering some of the firm’s most important client relationships. In their roles with the firm, Hamilton and Mara will both report to Richard J Blank, Jr, Managing Director and Head of Global Equities, at BTIG.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jeff and Rob to BTIG. With extensive management and multi-product sales trading expertise, they will enhance client connectivity in Boston, the surrounding region and beyond. They are highly regarded in the industry for their product knowledge, leadership and network of relationships. We look forward to their future contributions to our business,” says Blank.

As part of BTIG’s leadership team, Hamilton will work closely with the firm’s professionals across all products to support New England-based clients and promote new business opportunities. He has more than 25 years of finance and capital markets experience. Prior to BTIG, Hamilton founded 2G LLC, an investment company focusing on early-stage growth capital opportunities. Previously, he spent 17 years at Goldman Sachs & Co, where he managed the institutional client base as well as trading and compliance for the equities business in Boston. Earlier in his career, Hamilton spent six years in a similar capacity with CIBC Oppenheimer in both New York and Boston.

Mara has more than 20 years of financial services experience. Prior to BTIG, he was a Managing Director and Equity Sales Trader at Goldman Sachs & Co, where he held several multi-product sales and trading roles. During his tenure with Goldman Sachs & Co, Mara provided client coverage across derivatives, futures, commodities, options, program trading and equity cash sales.

“We are confident that Jeff and Rob will make an immediate impact on our business,” says Steven Starker, Co-Founder of BTIG. “They have demonstrated an impressive commitment to clients throughout their distinguished careers. We look forward to Jeff collaborating with our leadership team on corporate initiatives, as well as strengthening our existing partnerships. Leveraging his deep connections, Rob will help build additional interest in our institutional offering and deliver a compelling case for the value we offer clients across our product lines.”
