RELATED TOPICS

Cantor Fitzgerald has appointed Bob Sherry and David Kim as chief operating officer for prime services and director of prime services technology, respectively.

Sherry has over 25 years’ experience in the financial arena. In addition to his management experience in prime brokerage at Furman Selz, ING and ABN Amro he has buy-side experience as president of Miller & Jacobs Capital, a diversified asset management firm.

Kim joins from Citigroup, where he served as senior vice president of prime finance technology, responsible for management and oversight of all hedge fund technology services globally for Citi’s prime finance unit. Prior to Citi, Kim was with Lehman Brothers, where his responsibilities encompassed development of the firm’s client web portal, LehmanLive, construction and management of its data warehouse and trade booking service for prime brokerage, and management of hedge fund technology for Neuberger Berman correspondent clearing & prime brokerage.

Noel Kimmel, senior managing director and global head of prime services, says: “The depth of experience with prime brokerage and strong client service pedigrees that Bob and David bring to our growing team will be invaluable assets as we build out our platform. Bob has built and managed equity prime brokerage divisions at Furman Selz, ING and ABN Amro that were widely recognised and highly regarded within the industry for exceptional execution and excellent client service. David’s proven ability to translate business concepts into technology workflow and applications will enable Cantor to offer clients best in breed reporting, data interfaces, execution capabilities and other innovative technology solutions.”

Cantor Fitzgerald added nearly 100 sales and trading professionals in 2008 and another 125 new strategic hires since the start of this year.
