Capital Group expands European fixed income team

Capital Group has expanded its fixed income capabilities with the appointment of Peter Becker as a fixed income investment director in Europe.

Effective 17 September 2018, Becker will be based in London and will work closely with Jeremy Cunningham in the investment specialist team.
 
Peter will be responsible for supporting Capital Group’s growing fixed income offering, with institutional and financial intermediary clients based across Europe. He joins an experienced team of 150+ dedicated fixed income professionals at Capital Group, who have an average of 17 years’ industry experience.
 
“We are delighted that Peter is joining the team,” says Jeremy Cunningham, fixed income investment director. “Peter brings more than 22 years of experience to Capital Group, and a wealth of dedicated fixed income and business development experience. With his expertise, we will continue to build on our strategic plan to give investors in Europe access to Capital Group’s long-standing fixed income strategies.”
 
Becker joins Capital Group from Wellington Management International, where he was most recently a Managing Director within fixed income product management. Prior to joining Wellington in 2009, Becker was a fixed income portfolio manager for Aberdeen Asset Management. Prior to that he was a Director of European client portfolio management and business development for Fischer Francis Trees & Watts, and a corporate bond portfolio manager at HSBC Global Asset Management. 
 
Becker was awarded the title of Chartered Financial Analyst in 2003 and is a member of the CFA Institute.
