Capital Institutional Services (CAPIS), a provider of institutional brokerage and commission management services, has launched a new managed account service.

This new service, CAPIS ARC (Allocation, Reconciliation and Clearing), aims to simplify post-trade allocation for investment managers, trust banks and transition managers, allowing managed account orders to be executed with the investment manager’s broker of choice.

Jim Morrow, chief operating officer, says: “With CAPIS ARC, our goal is to assist our investment manager clients by providing a settlement utility that simplifies and improves their process of providing best execution for their managed account clients.”

CAPIS has appointed three new employees to manage this new service.

Mark Viani will serve as CAPIS’ director of managed account services. Viani most recently worked as managing director, electronic products group with Cowen & Company and brings over 28 years of experience to CAPIS.

Robert McHeffey will serve as a sales executive with CAPIS. McHeffey brings over 28 years of industry experience, most recently as co-director, electronic products group with Cowen & Company.

Jessica Oliveras-Yu will serve as a client service representative with CAPIS. Oliveras-Yu has 16 years of industry experience, most recently serving Cowen & Company as vice president, electronic products group.

Viani says: “CAPIS has the technological, operational, and reporting capabilities we were seeking in a partner, and the management at CAPIS is always seeking new and innovative ways to achieve best execution mandates for their clients. Our product was a perfect fit with their philosophy.”
