Cardano, a fiduciary manager, risk manager and, investment adviser, has appointed of Patrick Luthi as Chief Financial Officer.

Michaël De Lathauwer, co-Group CEO of Cardano, says: “Bringing Patrick on board represents another step forward in the strategic development of the Cardano Group. Since our foundation in 2000, Cardano has grown to be a significant player in helping pension funds and other financial institutions become more robust and resilient. We have helped reduce the impact of market shocks on their financial health, and at the same time provided stakeholders with greater confidence that they can achieve the returns required to meet their funding goals.

“In order to achieve this it is imperative that we have the highest calibre of people throughout the organisation. Having someone with Patrick’s experience is therefore key to our continued development and commitment to build a world class infrastructure to achieve our strategic goals.”

Luthi adds: “I was particularly attracted to Cardano’s culture of working with pension plans, sponsors and governments to contribute to a more resilient financial world and their efforts to broaden financial knowledge and risk management to other markets. I am therefore looking forward to helping the company develop to continue to meet the increasing demands it has for their innovative services.”

Before joining Cardano, Luthi worked at Goldman Sachs in London for 19 years as a Managing Director in the company’s Securities Division, including COO of the European Equities Division and most recently as COO of the Global FX Division. He graduated from Harvard Business School with a Master in Business Administration and from the Graduate Institute Geneva with a Master in International Affairs.
