Cardano, a pensions risk and investment management specialist, has appointed two new senior hires.
Sasha Mandich has been hired as Head of Business Development, responsible for leading the business development team at Cardano UK. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the investment industry to the role.
Prior to joining Cardano, Mandich served in a number of senior management roles at Russell Investments in the UK and the Asia Pacific region. Most recently, he was responsible for growing the UK fiduciary management business as a Managing Director and head of institutional sales.
Mandich has a postgraduate degree from the University of Auckland Business School and is a CFA Charterholder. He will begin his new role this week, reporting to Patrick Cunningham, Partner at Cardano and Co-Head of Clients.
Cardano has also appointed Gillie Tomlinson as Head of Trustee Engagement. In the role, Tomlinson will be responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with trustees and other stakeholders at UK defined benefit schemes.
Tomlinson has 30 years of experience in the investment industry. Prior to joining Cardano, Gillie served as a Director at LCP, where she was responsible for client development. Before that, she spent twelve years at BlackRock, where she focused on professional trustees and consultant relations. Gillie has earned relevant industry qualifications, including IIMR and IAC.
In her new role, Tomlinson will work closely with the other members of the client team to engage trustees on all aspects of Integrated Risk Management. Gillie will report to Sasha Mandich when she starts on 1 July.
Patrick Cunningham, Partner at Cardano and Co-Head of Clients, says: “We’re thrilled to strengthen our team with these two strong hires. Sasha and Gillie both bring extensive experience to their roles and will provide valuable insight as Cardano continues to grow. As the challenges for UK trustees continue to evolve, their skills will be instrumental in helping our clients to meet their objectives.”
