Carne recruits IFS founder to join expanding team of independent fund directors

RELATED TOPICS

Carne Global Financial Services has added a senior figure in the Irish funds industry to its growing list of experienced independent fund directors, with Mary Murphy joining the firm as a Managing Director, Alternatives.

Murphy, who will be based in Carne’s Dublin office, is a well-known figure in the Irish funds business, having been a founder and a member of the senior management team at International Fund Services (Ireland) Limited, a State Street company (IFS). From IFS’ launch in 1996, she focused on the growth of its hedge fund administration business and more recently on State Street’s private equity fund services business.

John Donohoe, Chief Executive of Carne Global, says: "It is vitally important in today’s alternative investments industry that independent fund directors have a lengthy track record and the depth of professional experience that allows them to meet their fiduciary duties. Mary brings both to the market leading team of independent fund directors we have built up in Dublin. She will be working with a number of our clients to help them address their governance needs."

Carne Global Financial Services already provides independent directors for funds domiciled in Ireland, Luxembourg, and the Cayman Islands. It ensures all the individuals it puts forwards as independent directors for fund boards are appropriately qualified with substantial track records in the investment funds business.
