Citi appointed successor depositary bank for Akbank’s ADR programme

Citi’s Issuer Services business, acting through Citibank, has been appointed by Akbank TAS (Akbank) as the successor depositary bank for its Level 1 American Depositary Receipt (ADR) programme. 

Akbank’s ADRs have been approved for trading on OTCQX under the symbol AKBTY. Akbank’s ordinary shares are also listed and trade on the Istanbul Stock Exchange under the symbol “AKBNK”.

Atıl Ozus, Chief Financial Officer at Akbank. says: “We look forward to working closely with Citi and leveraging their expertise and value added resources to further enhance and diversify our shareholder base.”

“Citi is delighted to be appointed by Akbank as successor depositary bank for its Level 1 ADR programme”, says Dirk Jones, Global Head of Issuer Services, at Citi. “Leveraging Citi’s unmatched global equity distribution network, we look forward to working closely with Akbank on providing incremental investor access and servicing their existing ADR holders.”
