Marc Haynes has joined Cohen & Steers in its London office, effective 21 January, 2016, as Head of Institutional Sales and Client Service for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Haynes comes to Cohen & Steers from Greenwich Associates, a leading provider of market intelligence and advisory services to the financial services industry, where he served as Managing Director and Partner, leading the firm's global investment management practice. In addition to his management responsibilities, Marc developed relationships with the leadership teams of many of the world's foremost investment managers and consultants, providing advice on a broad range of strategic challenges.

Robert Steers, Chief Executive Officer of Cohen & Steers, says: "Marc has a strong reputation in the industry and brings a deep understanding of the region's distribution landscape, which is critical in developing a strategic approach to a very fragmented market. We look forward to Marc playing a leading role in strengthening recognition of Cohen & Steers' institutional investment expertise in the UK and Europe."

Stephen Dunn, Executive Vice President, Global Distribution, says: "As demand for alternative investment strategies continues to grow globally, we are committed to bringing our superior asset management capabilities to pensions, retirement platforms, fiduciaries and other institutional investors and intermediaries. We believe Marc's experience and knowledge will prove highly beneficial to our clients in Europe's evolving markets."

Haynes has more than 14 years of experience in the asset management industry in strategy, investment and distribution roles across both institutional and retail channels. Prior to Greenwich Associates, he headed the life and pensions investment office at Friends Provident, where he was responsible for its award-winning pension investment platform. Previously, he held a number of distribution roles at Schroders.
