Investment management company Conning Asset Management has appointed Ben Hamilton as a portfolio manager to its London team.
The appointment is a reflection of Conning’s commitment to its London investment centre as it continues grow its European service provision, with approximately USD8.5bn of assets now managed in London.
Hamilton is the latest addition to the rapidly expanding team, which now numbers 18 investment professionals and support. In his new role Hamilton will be assisting senior portfolio managers managing fixed income portfolios for the European client base, and developing Conning’s global bond offering. He will report into Russell Büsst, Conning’s European chief investment officer.
Prior to joining Conning, Hamilton was at Premier Asset Management, where he was the assistant investment manager and research analyst for fixed income and multi-asset funds.
Büsst says: “Ben’s appointment, along with our other recent hires, reflects the commitment that Conning is making to both the insurance sector and the European/global offering. We are not content to open distribution centres and sell centralised ‘production’. Our strategy is to build ‘real’, fully resourced, investment centres to bring global skill sets to local markets. Ben’s background and personality will greatly enhance that strategy in London.”
