Cowen adds to Derivatives Sales and Trading Team

Cowen has appointed Drew Forman as Managing Director, Head of Derivatives Sales and Trading, and Evan Karp as Director of Derivatives Sales and Trading.

Forman (pictured), and Karp are responsible for further expanding the company’s institutional derivatives capabilities and report to Kyle Solomon, Managing Director of Alternative Equity Strategies.

Cowen’s Derivatives Sales and Trading team help clients develop and implement customised option strategies while actively using firm capital to help keep markets consistent. In addition to being active in derivatives, Cowen is a top US broker in cash equities, a leading venue neutral electronic trading partner and offers industry focused investment banking for growth-oriented companies.
 
Prior to joining Cowen, Forman was Managing Partner, Co-Head of Sales and Trading at Macro Risk Advisors (MRA) where he helped run the firm’s trading desk. Before joining MRA in 2012, Mr. Forman was a senior derivatives trader at Nomura Securities. In addition, he previously worked as a derivatives trader at JP Morgan during which time he was named a “Top 30 Under 30 Trader” by Traders Magazine. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Yale where he was graduated cum laude.
 
Karp most recently worked as a Sales Trader at Macro Risk Advisors (MRA) where he served as an execution touchpoint in the areas of index and equity options as well as cash and ETF products. Prior to working at MRA, Karp worked in Institutional Equity Sales at BMO Capital Markets and was also a Sales Executive at SNL Financial. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Emory University.
