Dechert has announced that Christopher P. Harvey has joined the firm as a partner in the financial services group.

Harvey (pictured), who will be resident in the firm’s Boston office, was previously a partner and co-chair of the investment management practice group at WilmerHale.

"With his broad experience, Chris is a terrific addition to our top-ranked financial services practice. Chris, who enjoys a high industry profile, will further enhance our brand as an industry leader in the representation of financial services firms," says Dechert chairman Barton J. Winokur.

"Dechert’s highly regarded financial  services practice is the perfect venue for me to counsel financial services  firms as they face a very challenging business and regulatory environment," Harvey says.

Harvey focuses his practice on the investment management industry, working with major investment managers and other financial institutions and with independent mutual fund directors. He has extensive experience with all sectors of the US market, including SEC-registered open- and closed-end funds, private funds, hedge funds, and separate managed accounts.

"Chris wins high marks as a very talented and experienced lawyer assisting prominent financial services firms on US and international regulatory matters.  We are excited to have him join our team in Boston," says Joseph R. Fleming, co-chair of the financial services group.

Harvey also counsels investment advisers and broker-dealers on a variety of corporate and securities matters.
