DWS has appointed Peter McGloughlin as Head of UK & Ireland Insurance. Based in London, McGloughlin has extensive insurance and pensions solutions expertise, and a notably strong track record in the domestic insurance market.

McGloughlin was most recently Managing Director at Eatonville Capital Partners, a boutique consultancy in private credit and formerly Executive Director, UK Insurance & Pensions Solutions, at BNP Paribas, where he worked with institutional clients in the UK to source strategic transaction opportunities across alternative fixed income, yield enhancement, derivative hedging and capital optimisation.

Prior to this McGloughlin was a Director, Insurance Solutions at Lloyds Banking Group, where he was part of the Financial Institutions team covering insurance, pensions and financial sponsors. McGloughlin started his career at Reech Capital (now FIS), a provider of pricing analytics, risk advisory, and independent derivatives valuation.

McGloughlin joins DWS as it looks to further capitalise on its significant presence in the insurance market. In addition, DWS has further strengthened its insurance coverage team in Germany with the appointment of Clara Fiedrich as a specialist covering the German insurance sector.

Mark Fehlmann, Head of European Insurance Coverage at DWS, says: “We are pleased to appoint Peter into a key role as we continue to grow our insurance capabilities in the UK. Peter brings significant insurance expertise and relationships to our platform, which positions us well for growth and delivering value to our clients and investors globally”.

Peter McGloughlin, Head of UK & Ireland Insurance at DWS, adds: “DWS has a long-standing commitment to insurance asset management and I look forward to bringing innovation and value to our global client base.”
