Eastspring Investments (Eastspring), the USD254 billion Asian investment management arm of Prudential, has appointed Bill Maldonado as Head of Equities. Subject to regulatory approval, he will commence in his role on 6 September 2021.
This strategic investment aims to expand Eastspring’s leadership capabilities, strengthen its equity offerings, and support Eastspring’s specialised equity teams’ approach. In this new role, Bill will be responsible for managing and further diversifying Eastspring’s equity strategies. Based in Singapore, Bill will report to Boon Peng Ooi, Head of Eastspring Portfolio Strategies.
Bill has nearly 30 years of global asset management experience. He was most recently the Asia Pacific Chief Investment Officer and Global Chief Investment Officer, Equities at HSBC Global Asset Management.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Science, Physics (Hons) from Sussex University and Uppsala University, an MBA from Cranfield University and a Doctorate (DPhil) in Laser Physics from University of Oxford.
