Equinox Capital Markets, an alternative investment marketing and business development firm, has appointed Michel Serieyssol as managing director.

Serieyssol joins a team dedicated to marketing, sales, and business development solutions for alternative investment managers both in the US and internationally.

Serieyssol will be responsible for marketing a select group of hedge funds, commodity trading advisers and other specialised asset managers including Equinox Fund Management, an affiliated company, to institutional investors in Europe and the US.

Among his first priorities will be to help launch the forthcoming Ucits business of Equinox Fund Management.

John Gallagher, president of Equinox Capital Markets, says: “To engage a professional of Michel’s stature and expertise speaks volumes about the opportunities developing around our institutional business. The opportunity set at Equinox is being recognised by able, creative and accomplished professionals in the alternative investment marketplace. Our ability to capitalise on those opportunities grows that much stronger with Michel’s appointment.”

Serieyssol joins from Société Générale where he was a managing director and head of the pension solutions group. Prior to this he was a managing director at EIM, a fund of hedge funds group. He worked earlier as the global head of MSCI’s hedge fund index business and head of European prime brokerage for Bear Stearns International.

Equinox Capital Markets is an affiliate of Equinox Fund Management, the Denver-based commodity pool operator, managing owner of The Frontier Fund, and the sponsor and investment adviser of MutualHedge, a mutual fund family of alternative investments.
