RELATED TOPICS

Cordiant, a manager of emerging market private sector investments, has appointed Evan McCordick as managing director.

McCordick will oversee investor relations and, as a member of the management committee, he will be involved in the screening of investments and the development and implementation of corporate strategy.

McCordick brings to Cordiant over 25 years of investment and banking experience, primarily focussed on the emerging markets.

Prior to joining Cordiant, he was a founding partner and managing director of Ibis Capital Management, a captive financial advisory group to a large multi-sector private conglomerate with investments in insurance, banking, energy and real estate.

From 1999 to 2005, McCordick was a partner of Baring Latin America Partners where he originated and managed private equity investments in Latin America and Africa, including in infrastructure, financial services, technology, and consumer products.

Previously, he spent seven years with the International Finance Corporation where he was a senior investment officer in the Latin America and Caribbean and infrastructure departments.

David Creighton, Cordiant’s president and chief executive, says: “With his extensive capital market and fund management experience, Evan joins Cordiant at an exciting time in the firm’s growth. As we prepare to launch new funds, we’re thrilled to have Evan join our team and contribute his knowledge and expertise as we explore new opportunities for our investors.”

McCordick adds: “Cordiant is uniquely positioned to deliver investment products that build on its strong track record of over ten years of successful investing in emerging markets. I am delighted to be joining the firm and to have the opportunity to develop and launch these products.”
