The first event of its type in the Channel Islands, the summit provides a discussion forum on key issues facing finance practitioners in the current economic climate and aims to provide a good networking opportunity.

Speakers at the summit include Sandra Horsfield, senior economist at Barclays, Mohammed Younes, chairman of Concord International Investments Group, Jo Huxtable, tax director at Deloitte, and George Buckley, chief UK economist at Deutsche Bank.

The summit takes place during the Battle of Britain Week, one of the most popular weeks for visiting the Channel Islands. The Battle of Britain Air Display, with a WWII commemorative flyover, Euro-fighter and Red Arrows, takes place on 10 September, the day before the summit.

Tamara Menteshvili, CISX chief executive, says: ‘We believe that the International Business Summit will help put the Channel Islands increasingly on the map as a destination for leading business professionals to visit. The focus will be on the global economic conditions, market trends, threats and opportunities.’

Three firms in the Channel Islands have so far agreed to support the event as major gold sponsors: Intertrust, Ogier and Ozannes.
