EY Partner Martin extends Channel Islands role

RELATED TOPICS

EY partner, Wendy Martin, has extended her role within the Channel Islands. Martin was promoted to tax partner in July last year and now enhances her role by taking over as head of tax for the firm, replacing Peter Willey who has recently returned to an EY team in the UK.

An expert in domestic and international tax matters, with 20 years’ experience in providing tax advice, Martin also has an in-depth knowledge of the automatic exchange of information regimes and their application to businesses. She regularly advises banks, fund managers, trust companies and administrators on how to address the associated compliance challenges.

As well as her tax specialism she has championed the diversity and inclusiveness agenda, specifically encouraging women to achieve their potential by expanding their networks and developing professional skills, as well as encouraging more women to be represented on boards.

Prior to joining EY, Martin was Director of Tax Policy with the States of Jersey, a role which involved developing international and domestic tax policy for the Island.

She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT).

Andrew Dann, EY’s Channel Islands managing partner, says: “We would like to thank Peter for his hard work and dedication to the role over the past three years and wish him well in his new position in the UK.

“Wendy is a very skilled tax professional with extensive experience and is an ideal successor to Peter. Since joining EY she has significantly grown our tax offering and cemented our position as leading advisors on FATCA, BEPS and other tax regulatory matters.”
