Lazard has hired Fotis Hasiotis as a co-head of the European financial sponsors group, effective immediately.

Based in London, Hasiotis will lead the group alongside Isabelle Xoual in Paris.

He joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was head of EMEA financial sponsors.

“Fotis brings a wealth of experience with him, which will be of tremendous benefit to the team. His appointment underlines our commitment to provide outstanding advice to our Financial Sponsor clients in the region,” says William Rucker, chief executive of Lazard London.

Hasiotis has spent the last 15 years advising financial sponsor clients. He joined Merrill Lynch in 2004 as a managing director in the financial sponsors group in New York, and moved to London as head of EMEA financial sponsors in 2008.

Prior to Merrill Lynch, Hasiotis was a managing director in the financial sponsors group at CIBC World Markets in New York. He began his investment banking career at Bankers Trust in 1989, joining its financial sponsors group in 1995.
