FundRock Management Company has appointed Gregory Robinson-Kok as Head of the firm’s Alternatives business. A 12-year veteran of Franklin Templeton Investments, Robinson-Kok has held positions as Conducting Officer for the group’s Luxembourg entity, as Regional Head of Alternatives in Asia and as CEO of Vietcombank Fund Management (a Vietnamese Joint venture between Franklin Templeton and Vietcombank).
“We are delighted to have someone with Greg Robinson-Kok’s strong business acumen and experience to lead the Alternatives effort for FundRock. I believe that Greg’s product knowledge and hands-on global experience will add considerable value to the FundRock team,” says Revel Wood, CEO of FundRock.
His appointment is the latest development for FundRock, following the purchase of the business from the Royal Bank of Scotland, by Paris-based private equity group, BlackFin Capital Partners, in December 2015.
“It is an exciting time for Luxembourg based FundRock and I believe the business is ideally positioned to deliver exceptional service to a broad range of Alternative clients” said Robinson-Kok, adding that “Luxembourg is the global leader as a jurisdiction for third party management companies, due to an unparalleled regulatory environment and strong resource base. Furthermore the Luxembourg market has seen significant growth in Private Equity, Real Estate and Private Debt managers, seeking to domicile their funds here. The opportunity for these funds to operate in a well regulated environment, that offers a wide range of workable structures, is very appealing”.
