ACI – Financial Markets Association has launched ACI America, its new association for the North American region.
Launching against a backdrop of rapid regulatory change and market evolution, ACI America’s executive committee will represent market professionals spanning FX, interest rates and other securities, banknotes, precious metals and commodities and derivatives.
The launch of the new regional association was marked at an official opening ceremony at Tribeca Rooftop, New York.
ACI America will focus on market practices, education, and technology that other regional bodies under the ACI umbrella have long supported. It will actively promote the ACI Model Code and provide information, insight and guidance on a range of issues and challenges that impact professionals working across the North American financial markets.
Vincent Sangiovanni, president of ACI America, says: “ACI has a long rich history of service to the global financial markets. The ACI America executive board and I are excited to have the opportunity of building our membership through a strongly focused commitment to delivering all the benefits that ACI has to offer.
“Our Model Code, education programmes and international community of over 13,000 members in 65 different countries are what places ACI – Financial Markets Association in a class of its own. There is no other organisation that was built by professional traders, for professional traders, with a strong global representation anywhere in the world.”
ACI international president Marshall Bailey says: “ACI – Financial Markets Association has over 60 years of experience in the global markets. Our committees are comprised of experienced professionals with a broad range of competencies. The Committee for Professionalism is actively engaged with central banks, government agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure our ACI Model Code of ethical conduct is reinforced with market guidelines that enhance the professional marketplace. At a time when the wholesale financial markets are seeking guidance, the ACI can provide the necessary leadership on a wide range of issues.”
