Greylock Capital appoints MD

RELATED TOPICS

Greylock Capital has appointed Peter Schept as Managing Director.

Schept is a seasoned veteran of the emerging markets with considerable experience on both the sell and the buy-side, having started his career on Solomon Brothers’ bond trading desk in London in the early 80’s, before moving to Lehman Brothers’ London desk in 1990, and then  transferring to Lehman’s emerging market team in New York in 1992, where he overlapped with Greylock CEO Hans Humes.

Schept then spent seven years on the buy-side at Société Générale, which he joined in 2002, as a member of the proprietary trading group that oversaw a USD1.5 billion to USD2 billion emerging market portfolio. He returned to the sell side in 2009 to build out a sales and trading effort for Susquehanna International Group before, most recently, moving to Cantor Fitzgerald where he was Managing Director on their emerging market institutional sales desk.

Schept will be joining Greylock’s investment team and, among other responsibilities, will be overseeing the firm’s trading across its various strategies.

“I have known Pete since we worked together at Lehman almost 30 years ago,” says Humes. “He brings us a wealth of perspective and experience.  I am sure he will contribute tremendously to our investment team and process and I’m looking forward to having him with us.”
