The team of analysts at the Washington Research Group (WRG) is joining Guggenheim Securities. Formerly of MF Global, WRG is a Washington, DC-based, policy-focused investment research team that provides leading institutional equity investors with insights and analysis on the impact of government policy on investment opportunities.

“This is a transformative event for the equities business of Guggenheim Securities as we build out our research capabilities,” says “The addition of WRG is illustrative of Guggenheim’s dedication to bring insights to our clients, as well as our commitment to grow our business in the face of difficult market conditions. The combination of our existing research capabilities with WRG’s deep insights on public policy developments enhances our ability to provide thoughtful insights to our clients. Furthermore, the compatibility of our two corporate cultures and commitment to excellence bodes well for success.”

WRG’s 14 policy strategists will join with Guggenheim’s securities analysts to produce integrated products of high quality public policy commentary and fundamental analysis. The first combined commentary is expected to reach clients in the near future.

“The addition of the high caliber WRG analyst team and their focus on public policy investment themes will help us further deliver attractive and actionable ideas to our clients,” says Lance Klima, Senior Managing Director of the equities division at Guggenheim Securities. “We warmly welcome the entire team to Guggenheim and look forward to working with them.”

“We are delighted to be joining such a dynamic and forward-thinking firm," says Ed Garlich, WRG Group head and founder. "We feel that WRG’s policy analysts will bring unique new perspectives to the Guggenheim research offering and we look forward to continuing to serve institutional investors in the US and around the world."
