HarbourVest Partners launches Evergreen Secondaries Solution

RELATED TOPICS

HarbourVest Partners has announced the launch of an Evergreen Secondaries Solution.

The firm writes that the Luxembourg domiciled evergreen secondaries solution is designed to offer non-US private wealth and institutional investors convenient access to HarbourVest’s market leading secondary investment platform, which boasts several decades of experience.

Through HarbourVest’s global multi-manager platform and over 600 GP relationships, the solution aims to achieve attractive risk adjusted returns by investing in quality assets across different geographies and sectors, with a focus on buyouts, spanning both LP and GP led secondary transactions.

The solution is seeded by a cornerstone investor with a five-year lock up, allowing it to launch with a diversified portfolio, seeking to reduce blind pool investment risk, the firm says.

Designed to address the shifting demands of today’s investors, the solution underscores HarbourVest’s commitment to expanding its wealth platform to meet the needs of individuals and their advisors, the firm says.

“Private Clients today are seeking more than just access, they want solutions that deliver performance, simplify complexity, and strengthen their portfolios,” says Venu Krishnamurthy, Head of Global Private Wealth at HarbourVest. “This new secondaries solution is designed to meet that demand, offering a diversified yet convenient gateway to private markets that fits seamlessly into modern wealth strategies.”

“Evergreen solutions require a robust operational structure that enables recycling of proceeds, dynamic portfolio construction and scalable private equity,” says Monique Austin, Head of Evergreen Solutions at HarbourVest. “This new solution reflects our deep expertise in secondaries, high deal flow, and disciplined multi-manager approach. Our ability to scale both traditional drawdown and evergreen solutions underscores the strength and flexibility of our platform.”

HarbourVest’s Evergreen Secondaries Solution follows its partnership with AP7 in January 2023, when the Swedish government pension fund became the founding investor in a new evergreen private equity solution designed for non-US institutional and high net worth investors. This expansion strengthens the firm’s evergreen suite as it responds to rising demand from the wealth segment, the firm says.
