Hermes appoints Robert Wall as infrastructure partner

RELATED TOPICS

Hermes Investment Management has added to its infrastructure team with the appointment of Robert Wall as an infrastructure partner, reporting to Peter Hofbauer, head of infrastructure.

Based in London, Wall will complement the existing partners and infrastructure team, with responsibility for originating, analysing and executing investments as well as governance of portfolio companies.

He will also join the infrastructure investment committee.

Wall joins Hermes from the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) where he has worked for the past nine years in both Toronto and London. As an early member of the infrastructure investment team at CPPIB, Wall participated in the rapid development of a significant global infrastructure investment business in a growing and maturing asset class.

He has been responsible for executing large scale direct infrastructure investments in multiple jurisdictions and has acted as a board director of major infrastructure companies in Europe and Australia whilst a member of the CPPIB infrastructure team.

Wall’s early career was in civil engineering in the UK and New Zealand.

Hofbauer says: “Robert’s in-depth industry experience and deep understanding of direct global infrastructure investment will help us continue to serve our clients interests and grow the business from the current GBP3.9 billion, of assets under management. He brings significant and highly relevant infrastructure investment experience that will supplement the high calibre of experienced individuals that make up the existing Hermes infrastructure team.”
