International Financial Data Services (IFDS), a provider of outsourced administration and technology solutions to the collective investment, fund platform, retirement and insurance markets, has made senior appointments to its management team in the UK.

Chris Spencer (pictured) has assumed the role of Managing Director, UK Funds. Spencer joined IFDS in 2004 as a Director of Client Relations. He previously held senior positions in both operations and client-facing roles at Fidelity Investments and Govett Investment Management.

Richard Barrett has been named Chief Operating Officer, UK Funds. Barrett joined IFDS in 2008 as Director of Operations, having previously held senior roles with Pershing Securities and Fidelity Investments.

In addition, David Moffat, Group Executive has been named to lead the strategic response of the IFDS Funds business to major new legislation, with an initial focus on MiFID II.

According to Paul Roberts, CEO Funds at IFDS, the moves reflect the firm’s on-going commitment to its transfer agency business at a time of increased regulatory engagement and greater focus on international growth.

“These key appointments are in direct response to the on-going needs of UK Funds’ clients,” says Roberts.” The changes will strengthen our ability to meet our clients and their customers’ needs and better prepare us to deal with the ever-changing regulatory environment.”
