Janus Capital Group has launched two new Asia-focused funds and two new Japan-focused funds, under a sub investment management agreement with DIAM International.

DIAM International, based in London, is a wholly owned subsidiary of DIAM Co, Ltd (DIAM), a leading Asian asset manager headquartered in Tokyo, with over USD146 billion of assets under management, as of 30 September, 2014.

“Today’s announcement is a continuation of our commitment and strategic focus of expanding our distribution capabilities and product offerings outside the US,” says Augustus Cheh, President of Janus Capital International. “With ongoing support from our strategic partner Dai-ichi Life, we are delighted to offer our clients these Asian and Japanese equity funds, leveraging the strong track record and expertise of DIAM, and we continue to be committed to providing clients with best-in-class investment opportunities across global markets and asset classes.”

The Funds are available within the Janus Capital Funds Plc (“JCF”) range, a UCITS incorporated in Ireland. The specialised Asian and Japanese equity strategies broaden the suite of the JCF fund range available to investors. The Funds include the following:

• Janus Japan Fund, an unconstrained Japan equity fund with a flexible approach seeking to generate alpha by investing across all market caps, styles and equity sectors.

• Janus Japan Emerging Opportunities Fund, a Japanese Small- and Mid-Cap equity fund seeking to invest in the growth drivers of the Japanese economy by providing exposure to emerging and potential growth companies.

• Janus Asia Frontier Markets Fund,an All-Cap equity fund for investors seeking actively managed exposure to Asia’s frontier markets, one of the most rapidly developing regions in the world with significant growth potential.

• Janus Asia Growth Drivers Fund,an equity fund focused on Asian consumer and other sectors driving Asia’s growth. Asia continues to be one of the fastest-growing opportunity sets in global equity investing today.

“DIAM is delighted to be partnering with Janus and to bring our experienced Asian and Japanese investment expertise to the Janus UCITS platform,” says Hideto Yamamoto, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of DIAM International. “We look forward to a long and successful partnership that benefits all of our clients.”
