Janus Henderson Group has appointed Tomoyasu Tanimoto as Head of Distribution in Japan. Tanimoto is based in Janus Henderson’s Tokyo office and reports to Suzanne Cain, Janus Henderson’s Global Head of Distribution.
Tanimoto will be responsible for the overall strategy and resourcing of the Japanese Distribution business and will play a key role in strengthening the firm’s business development capabilities and to lead the Japan Distribution team in providing quality client service to Japanese investors. In addition, Tanimoto will be working closely with Shinichi Aizawa, who was appointed Executive Chairman and President of Janus Henderson Investors (Japan) Limited in March 2021.
Tanimoto brings more than 28 years’ experience in asset management, in particular in fixed income and institutional asset raising. He joins from Fidelity, where he has worked since 2006 and where he was promoted to Head of Corporate Sales in 2008. In his thirteen years leading his team, he grew the business considerably despite challenging economic circumstances.
