Janus Henderson Investors expands deployment of Milestone Group’s global oversight technology

RELATED TOPICS

Janus Henderson Investors has extended its global deployment of Milestone Group’s pControl Oversight solution. The relationship, which previously spanned Europe and Asia, has now been extended to include North America.

Following the merger of Janus Capital and Henderson Global Investors, the firm needed a solution that provided consistent, global control across multiple third-party administrators. While many administrators now offer solutions to access NAV data, this can prove a challenge to firms wishing to work towards an independent or global oversight framework.

Jesper Nergaard, Treasurer for Janus Henderson Investors North American operations says: “Having a global solution like pControl Oversight as opposed to a solution tied to a specific admin allows us to tailor controls and checks globally instead of being different for each vendor, each product type.”

While regulators are expecting firms to evidence oversight of outsourced relationships more than ever, firms like Janus Henderson Investors recognise the importance of demonstrating oversight best practice to clients and fund boards as well.

Graham Foggin at Janus Henderson Investors says: “When talking to clients it is important to be able to reference a common oversight model, a system that can sit across multiple third-party administrators –  pControl enables us to unify the different data provided by third-party administrators and product types globally. Using a system that can straddle across all of our administrators rather than multiple different systems, gives us an advantage”

Nergaard says: “Having pControl is extremely important to meet our fiduciary responsibility, pControl Oversight allows us to report to fund boards information on the efforts and quality of our administrators.”

Paul Roberts, CEO at Milestone Group, says: “We are thrilled to be expanding our relationship with Janus Henderson Investors. Regulators and investors alike continue to encourage firms in all regions to demonstrate effective oversight of outsourced relationships. There is a trend from regulators, particularly in the US, for oversight to be evidenced in a robust manner and pControl enables Janus Henderson Investors to do just this.”

Foggin adds: “We are excited to be building on our relationship with Milestone Group. The team and their technology have proved themselves before and we feel confident that they are the best provider as we extend our relationship in this way.”
