JonesTrading Institutional Services (JonesTrading) has appointed Prakhar Agrawal to its Research team as Vice President, Healthcare Research. He will cover biotechnology companies in the Healthcare Sector. Before joining Jones Trading, Agrawal was an Associate Director at UBS covering US large-cap pharmaceuticals and SMID-cap biotech companies. Prior to UBS, he covered US and EU large-cap pharmaceutical companies as a Senior Associate at BMO Capital Markets. He has also covered the Healthcare Services sector as an associate at Leerink Partners.

Agrawal also has extensive life sciences consulting experience at IQVIA and ZS Associates where he focused on areas such as drug pricing and market access. He holds an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. Alan Hill, CEO of JonesTrading, says: “JonesTrading continues to expand our research services, and we are providing targeted sector analysis to meet client demand. Our clients rely on us to make sense of the markets and help them in performance. Healthcare will be critical, especially in light of Covid, and markets are likely to remain volatile in the months ahead. With biotech as Prakhar’s focus, we are providing more insight within Healthcare. Based on his experience in the sector’s companies and as an analyst, Prakhar brings valued expertise and experience to our team.”

Agarwal says: “The substantial innovation in biotech and robust capital market activity has led to significant investor interest in the SMID-cap biotech sector. At Jones, my focus will be on helping clients navigate the complexities of biotech investment in several key therapeutic areas by providing comprehensive and thoughtful research in a simplified manner that can be valuable to all types of institutional investors. “
