JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) is expanding its Asia Beta Strategies team with two Hong Kong appointments.

Albert Chuang has relocated to Hong Kong as Portfolio Manager on JPMAM’s Quantitative Beta Strategies Investment team. He is focused on quantitative research, model development and portfolio management for strategic beta and alternative risk premia strategies. He manages portfolios for both Funds and Institutional clients.

Chuang previously spent five years in the JPMAM London office, where his responsibilities included portfolio management and quantitative research. Prior to that, he worked in New York for two years as a member of JPMAM’s Multi-Asset Solutions group.

Jason Leung has been appointed Investment Specialist for Asia Beta Strategies, based in Hong Kong. JPMAM investment specialists are experts in their respective fields, support portfolio management teams and are responsible for communicating market outlook, investment strategy and investment performance to clients. Leung is primarily focused on representing the firm’s systematic and risk premia investment capabilities.

Leung transferred from his prior role as Senior Investment Specialist with JPMorgan Private Bank. Before joining JPMAM in 2014, he worked at Citi Global Markets as Multi-Asset Structurer for a decade.

“We’re delighted to have Jason and Albert join our expanding team. We see increasing demand from clients for beta strategies solutions and Asia is a key growth market. These new appointments will enable us to continue to build our franchise in the region,” says Philippe El-Asmar, Head of Asia Beta Strategies, JP Morgan Asset Management.
