JP Morgan strengthens direct custody offering in Australia and New Zealand

RELATED TOPICS

JP Morgan Treasury & Securities Services (TSS) has strengthened its direct custody and clearing capabilities, announcing Bronwyn Clere as head of the Melbourne and New Zealand business along with other key hires. The direct custody business was successfully migrated from ANZ Custodian Services in November 2010, increasing JP Morgan’s presence in Melbourne and New Zealand.

Clere recently returned to Australia from Hong Kong where she led the programme management function for a large financial services organisation across 15 Asia Pacific markets. Prior to that, she held an executive management role with full responsibility for an operating services business unit covering an Australia & New Zealand client base. With over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry, her other roles have included operations, client service, and programme management in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the Asia Pacific region.

Jane Perry, CEO of J.P. Morgan Treasury & Securities Services, Australia and New Zealand, says Clere’s appointment will further bolster the direct custody and clearing business while providing strong leadership for the broader business in Melbourne and New Zealand.

“Bronwyn’s extensive knowledge of the local market and her strong management skills and client service focus will be invaluable as we further enhance the services that we offer to our clients in Australia and New Zealand; a market that represents an integral part of the firm’s broader Asia Pacific growth strategy,” says Perry.

Wayne Francis, Head of Direct Custody and Clearing in Australia and New Zealand, joins Clere on the Melbourne and New Zealand management team. Francis, who joined J.P. Morgan in January 2011, has over 20 years’ experience in the securities industry including previous roles as product manager and head of operations.

Ben Vanden Boom, Head of WSS Operations for Melbourne and New Zealand, is the third member appointed to the management team having joined J.P. Morgan in March 2011. Vanden Boom has over 10 years’ experience leading extensive project initiatives and large operational teams of more than 100 members in both Australia and New Zealand.
