Junior oils trust launches institutional share class

RELATED TOPICS

The Junior Oils Trust, advised by Sector Investment Managers, is launching an institutional share class to provide institutional investors and wealth managers with access to the specialist fund with a reduced annual management fee of 1.25%.

The share class has a minimum investment of GBP50,000 and will be available from today, Monday 12 March.

Launched in 2004 to provide investors with diversified access to the super-cycle in energy and commodities, the Junior Oils Trust has returned 108% over three years and 124% since launch to 29 February 2012, compared to 44% and 40%, respectively, of its benchmark the FTSE 350 Oil & Gas index.* The fund’s objective is to provide long-term capital growth from a global portfolio of small to medium capitalisation oil production companies.

Angelos Damaskos (pictured), CEO, Sector Investment Managers and Fund Adviser, Junior Oil Trust, says: “The Junior Oils Trust has a successful, proven track record and is an attractive investment for institutional investors and wealth managers looking to gain exposure to the energy sector. The growing demand for energy from the developing world is an important theme for investors and will continue to support the oil price and profits of well managed oil production companies.

“We are seeing a return of confidence and risk appetite among institutional investors and are optimistic for 2012 both in terms of investment outlook and attracting investor inflows. Small and medium sized companies experienced a severe sell off in 2011 and there are many quality companies in the oil sector which we believe will benefit from a re-rating in coming months. Increasing acquisition activity will also be contributing to portfolio returns as cash-rich large-production companies scramble to capitalise on the market anomaly.”
