Kirkland & Ellis advises Advent International on Hermes UK investment

RELATED TOPICS

Kirkland & Ellis is advising Advent International on its partnership with Otto Group in relation to the Hermes Group businesses in the UK and Germany. Advent will acquire a 75 per cent stake in Hermes UK and a 25 per cent stake in Hermes Germany.

The transaction will facilitate further investment by Hermes in technology and infrastructure and support the future growth of the business in the rapidly growing parcel delivery sector. The management of Hermes UK will continue to lead the business as an independent company, with ‘business as usual’ for employees, suppliers and customers.

The Kirkland team was led by corporate partners Adrian Maguire (London) and Ben Leyendecker (Munich) and London debt partner, Chris Shield. The team was supported by London corporate associates Dan Clarke and Claire Rushton and Munich corporate associates Sebastian Haefele and Greta Harnisch.
