Liontrust has appointed Martyn Jones as fund manager on the Sustainable Investment team.
The fast growing Liontrust Sustainable Investment team has increased its assets under management to GBP4.6 billion as at 30 September 2019.
Jones became co-manager of the Liontrust Sustainable Future (SF) UK Growth, SF European Growth, GF SF Pan-European Growth and UK Ethical funds on 1 November 2019. Peter Michaelis, Head of the Sustainable Investment team, and Neil Brown, Fund Manager, remain managers of these funds.
Jones has been with the team since 2012, being responsible for thematic analysis, stock picking and active ownership in the team’s Healthier Food, Healthier Lifestyles and Education themes. In that time, Jones has acquired the IMC and CFA and is currently on the Masters in Sustainable Leadership programme at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainable Leadership (CISL).
Brown says: “Integrating environmental, social and governance factors into fundamental company analysis is detailed and complex work. Martyn’s deep understanding of this dynamic field has been a tremendous asset to the team for many years and we welcome him to fund management.”
Michaelis says: “Martyn is a key part of the investment team and deserves the promotion to fund manager where his knowledge and insights will be of even greater benefit to our investors.”
Jones adds: “I am looking forward to the additional responsibilities of fund management in delivering the aim of the team: attractive returns for our clients through companies delivering a positive impact on society and the environment.”
