MaplesFS opens Netherlands office

RELATED TOPICS

Maples Fiduciary, a division of MaplesFS and a provider of specialised fiduciary and corporate administration services, has opened a full-service office in Amsterdam.

"MaplesFS is internationally renowned for responsive and client-driven service. We are continually reshaping our business to address the changing demands of the industry," says Tom Davies, MaplesFS' Regional Head of Fiduciary – Europe. "Recently we have seen our clients looking for a MaplesFS service offering in Amsterdam, as they have noticed consolidation in the jurisdiction's fiduciary market and, as a result, an increasingly limited choice of premier service providers on the ground. We are delighted to now be able to offer a Netherlands solution in response to their needs."

The Dutch financial sector is favourably positioned in Europe, traditionally having been a desirable location for major financial institutions due to its modern legislation and stable business climate. Maples Fiduciary's clients around the globe increasingly have Netherlands-specific needs and interests and the expansion allows the firm to offer clients a full-service solution across multiple jurisdictions.

Jan Hendrik Siemssen, Senior Vice President at MaplesFS, leads the Netherlands office. With a career spanning over two decades in the Netherlands, he has extensive experience in fiduciary services and has held senior positions at a number of large Dutch trust companies where he had responsibility for various operational and product divisions covering structured finance, securities lending, risk management and corporate trust.

"We are proud to continue our evolution as a global leader in the provision of fiduciary, corporate formation and administration services through our expansion in the Netherlands as a licenced trust office, regulated by De Nederlandsche Bank," says Scott Somerville (pictured), MaplesFS' Chief Executive Officer. "It is exciting to welcome someone of the calibre of Jan Hendrik to Maples Fiduciary. His relationships and experience in the Netherlands and continental Europe will be invaluable as MaplesFS continues to expand its presence and strength of offering in Europe. With Jan Hendrik at the helm, we will be able to further capitalise on potential opportunities and expand our global footprint, while providing in-depth understanding of the local market and outstanding service to our existing client base in the region."
