MerQube adds to Advisory Board

RELATED TOPICS

Index provider MerQube has appointed two new Advisory Board Members – James Socas, MD of Blackstone’s software investment team and Amit Prakash, CTO at ThoughtSpot and a former leading engineer at Google.

They will provide guidance to the management team which includes Vinit Srivastava, CEO, and Keith Loggie, COO, both from S&P Dow Jones Indices, as well as Praveen Yalagandula, CTO.

Prakash, CTO at ThoughtSpot, says: “I am convinced that clients in the index space can significantly benefit from an advanced technology platform. The number of indices calculated has been continuously growing while indices are becoming increasingly complex, and only an innovative player can answer the existing market needs in a timely fashion.”

James Socas, MD at Blackstone, adds: “MerQube was built two years ago by a team of index industry veterans and technology experts. They already cover multi-asset, complex indices and have secured several deals with major players in both the financial and insurance industries. I am proud to join this fintech given how much they have accomplished in so little time and the exciting projects they have in the pipeline.”

MerQube is a US-based index provider that was launched in 2019 to bring advanced technology and an innovative mindset to a fast-growing space. MerQube covers multi-asset, equities, futures and options, offering design and calculation services for a wide range of complex indices, including thematic, ESG, factor and retirement.

Vinit Srivastava, CEO at MerQube, says: “As we look at the next phase of MerQube’s growth, we are excited to welcome James and Amit to our advisory board and look to gain from their significant experience in building and scaling companies.”

Prakash is a co-founder and CTO of ThoughtSpot, one of the leading companies in the Analytics software space. Prior to that, Prakash led several engineering teams at Google which designed some of the largest machine learning infrastructures in the world and built models that were critical to Google’s revenue growth. Prakash received his PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Prakash is also one of the authors of the popular algorithms book series “Elements of Programming Interviews”.
