MF Global, an intermediary offering solutions in global cash, derivatives and related markets, has named Peter Forlenza as global head of equities, effective immediately.

Forlenza previously served as global head of equities at Bank of America.

“We continue to expand our global presence and deliver broad access to an even wider range of products and markets. Peter’s proven leadership and extensive management experience makes him the ideal candidate to advance our equities growth strategy around the world,” says Bernard W. Dan, chief executive officer, MF Global. “Within the past year, we’ve added more than 60 senior-level professionals from Wall Street and other major corporations to our team, and attracting top talent such as Peter further enhances our company’s leadership strength, depth of expertise and ability to meet the needs of our clients.”

“MF Global’s strong commitment to its clients and diversified business model creates a compelling platform for customers’ trading needs—all of which were strong factors in my decision to join the firm,” says Forlenza. “Leveraging the company’s broad market access, I believe we can build an even stronger global presence in the equities marketplace for our clients. This is a very exciting time for MF Global and I’m pleased to be a part of its management team.”

Forlenza will oversee MF Global’s worldwide equities team. He will be responsible for managing the company’s equity and equity derivatives business across all customers and product lines, including cash, direct market access, equity derivative and exchange-traded funds activities.

Most recently, Forlenza created and launched Outpost Investment Group, a multi-asset class global macro hedge fund based in New York. He also served in a number of management positions at Bank of America Securities, including global head of equities and global head of cash equities. Prior to Bank of America, Forlenza was a senior executive at Citigroup and its predecessor firms Salomon Smith Barney and Salomon Brothers.
