MFC Global appoints Chris Conkey as chief investment officer, global equities

MFC Global Investment Management has appointed Chris Conkey as chief investment officer, global equities.

Conkey will be based in Boston and report directly to MFC Global president and chief executive officer J-F Courville.

Conkey will lead MFC Global’s equity group and be responsible for the overall investment performance and risk management of the firm’s portfolio of equity strategies globally.

He also will be responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of all strategic, financial, and operating plans and policies for the equity teams around the world. He will be a member of the MFC Global Investment Management executive committee.

"We are delighted to have Chris join the MFC Global team at this important stage of our growth," Courville says. "Chris Conkey is a seasoned investment professional with a strong track record of building and motivating teams within a performance-oriented culture."

Conkey brings nearly 25 years of investment management experience across fixed income and equity asset classes to this role. Most recently, he was chief investment officer of Evergreen Investment Management where he had overall management responsibility for USD180bn in assets.
