MFS continues to build out European team

MFS Investment Management continues to grow its team in Europe with the appointment of Carsten Uekermann as director of international accounts, covering MFS’ key global partners in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.Uekermann will be responsible for maintaining and expanding existing relationships with key intermediaries, contributing to MFS’ overall growth in the DACH region. In this new role, he will focus on understanding the unique needs of these clients, to ensure that MFS’ can continue to build and support long-term successful partnerships across all levels of these global organisations.

 
He will be based in MFS’ Frankfurt office and will work together with local sales directors Markus Hampel and Sebastian Hesse and also with sales directors Markus Fuchs and Teo Gianinazzi, who are based in Switzerland.
 
Uekermann has over 20 years of experience in the financial sector and was most recently sales director at Lombard Odier Investment Management. Prior to this, he was director, wholesale clients at StarCapital and before that, director, retail clients at ODDO BHF Asset Management. He started his career in the asset management industry as a senior sales manager for IFA’s at Fidelity International.
 
He reports to Alessandro Giuli, managing director, international accounts for MFS Investment Management.
 
Giuli says: ‘We remain committed to the growth of our European wholesale business. We have strengthened our sales presence and visibility over the past four years in order to increase the focus on MFS’ core investment strategies and continue to deliver the highest level of service to our expanding client base’.
 
‘Carsten’s knowledge of the DACH region, together with his strong financial background and experience in growing and servicing key client relationships, make him a significant addition to the team and to MFS,’ he adds.
 
Uekermann’s appointment is the latest in a series of senior European sales appointments at MFS. Most recently, Romain Drezet joined as sales director, France and Luigi Burdo as sales director, Italy.
 
MFS International Ltd. currently serves wholesale clients across Europe, with its European sales headquarters in London and regional offices in Frankfurt, Madrid, Milan, Paris and Zurich.
